Notes from the Week

Sometimes some of my favorite layouts are ones that capture photos of the everyday.  So yes, technically, this layout was during a trip to visit my in-laws, but this spread covers things we did without even leaving the house!  I used a bunch of different releases from the Kelly Purkey shop including the August Kit: “Yes”, Mini Kit: “Back to School“, and the “Today Is” stamp set.

Loved the goldenrod colored card out of the August Kit: Yes.  I used my typewriter to journal and then added the star and word circle stamps from the “Today Is” set.

The red NOTES journal card from the Mini Kit started out as a 4×4, but is just as cute cut down to a 3×4.  Again I used the Today Is stamp set to break up the days on this card and journaled with my typewriter.  How did I get solid letters?  Just colored them in with a pen!  This allowed me to bold the weekday letters so they’d stand out in my journaling.

The “Checklist” journal card is from the August Kit.  Usually you’ll see people put check marks in the boxes to the left to check off each of the listed items.  With so many options of tiny stamps in this month’s releases though, I picked the smiley face stamp from the Mini Kit.  Cute, huh?!  Also loving the sticker sheets you get in the kits–2 sheets each!  I pulled the sun sticker and the navy smiley face sticker from the TN Kit sheets.  The material of the stickers is really cool and doesn’t tear like regular paper stickers.

Hope you enjoyed getting a look at the details of this spread!  Lots of fun stuff to play with this month in the shop.  I can’t believe it’s already Back to School time because that means Fall is just around the corner!  My favorite!
