Even after all this time, a year and a half later, I still miss this kid like crazy. The day we had to say goodbye, I wrote down every memory, every nickname, every silly habit of his on my computer. I didn’t want to forget a single one. I thought to myself, after some time has passed, it’ll be easier to put these words on paper. Yet here I sit 18 months later crying as I work on this layout anyway.
I must say Ali Edwards’ Pets collection hit the nail on the head with some of her sentiments. Mr. Beer really was not only my friend, but a part of my family as well. And I definitely had some stories of him to tell. I know I can never replace him, but at least I can look back on these little stories and remember all the good times we had.
In addition to the digital stamps from the Pets kit, I also used the blue paisley card from Ali’s May digital release as a background. I reduced the opacity by 50% to allow the words to show through more. I hope this inspires you to capture the memories of your furkids, the sooner the better. They definitely leave an impression on our hearts.
Made me teary, pets are family.
