Farmer’s Market

There aren’t many of my layouts that one could say are full of color.  Blues, yes, greens, yes, but pink and tangerine, umm, no.   Despite this, I must say this is probably one of my favorite layouts!  I’m crushing on the “Tastes like Summer” stamp set over at the Kelly Purkey Shop.

One of the things I love about living in California is that fresh local fruits and vegetables abound.  There are fruit stands and farmer’s markets selling local nuts, honey, fruits, and vegetables…cheap!  This particular one was about 20 minutes from my house and I had been wanting to check it out for a while.

In the card above after stamping the images out, I used a watercolor pen and Mr. Huey’s inks to color them each in.  I masked the edges of the journaling card so the images would only go as far as the white space.

The watermelon above I cut out of white cardstock after stamping and watercoloring it in.  Layering it on the blue ombre card allows for the colors to show true.

Even though the orange journaling card above is technically for book summaries, I was able to stamp and type over it with black ink to make the card a mere background.  You should always be thinking of ways to maximize your product usage!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please let me know if you have any questions 🙂

  1. This is such a cute spread Jen! It is a little different than normal from you and I think that’s why it stands out so much. Great job!
